Scuba diving is for everybody!
People with physical and light mental disabilities have every much opportunity as anybody else to explore the amazing underwater world. By following an IAHD dive program you will be able to learn the ins and outs of scuba diving and receive an international certification that makes you able to be part of a global dive community. IAHD (International Association of Handicapped Divers) provides training for instructors enabling them to certify divers according to ISO standardized dive programs.
Why an IAHD dive license?
When you have an IAHD dive certification it will specifically mention a “Partner-Level”. This partner level is determined by your instructor during your course, and refers to the number of divers and their required certification levels that is needed to assist and/or escort you. This method ensures that virtually all people with physical or mental disabilities can become an internationally certified diver and enjoy diving safely.
Another point is that the IAHD course programs are ISO standardized, very much like a few other of the largest scuba training programs in the world. However IAHD certified instructors are specifically trained to deal and teach people with a large range of conditions, as opposed to regular scuba diving instructors.
